Interesting to note that the BBC has been using part of Arthur O’Shaughnessy’s poem of 1874, “Ode”, in a promo. This is the first stanza:
We are the music-makers,
And we are the dreamers of dreams,
Wandering by lone sea-breakers,
And sitting by desolate streams.
World-losers and world-forsakers,
Upon whom the pale moon gleams;
Yet we are the movers and shakers,
Of the world forever, it seems.
And we are the dreamers of dreams,

So that’s where “movers and shakers” comes
from…
And the music-makers? I take him to mean
creative people in all walks of life… And their isolation.
